Ammonite Cleoniceras sp. (am9)

Found in Cretatceous deposits in the north east coast of Madagascar, about 120 million years old. The ammonite has been polishd revealing the intricate suture patterns in this spexcies shell and showing off to full advantage the calcite forming the fossil. Measuring 170mm across its widest part the specimen weighs 1040gms. A stunning fossil.
