Ammonite - Whitby Dactylioceras (am4)

Ammonite found near Whitby, Yorkshire, of Jurassic age. Part of the back is still in the matrix. A varnish has been applied to stabilise the surface. A good specimen of a British ammonite. Measures a maximum 71mm across and weighs 165gm.
